We all want to work out how 2 get a 6 pack! Washboard, killer, ripped 6 pack abs. All those great looking guys and girls with perfectly toned midsections are lusted after and make other people’s jaws drop with admiration. If only we could do a hundred sit-ups a day, then it would be possible to get the perfect abs that we want, right?

Myth alert!

It seems like not everything that we hear from “experts” or have overheard in the public areas of the gym are true. Maybe the reason we are not getting those perfect 6 pack abs is because we are simply not performing our training routines the right way. Then that would be a terrible waste of our time wouldn’t it? So we need to know the myths and what is actual fact in order to get the 6 pack abs we want.

Six pack Myth 1: Abdominal muscle is different from regular muscle.

Muscle is muscle, simple as that. Abdominal muscle is pretty much the same muscle we find on our biceps and lats. The only difference is the location. Abdominal muscles are not resting on a bony surface, instead they are against the stomach and intestines. There is no significant difference whatsoever.

Six pack Myth 2: Strong abs equals a strong back.

The key to a strong back are balanced abdominal muscles. You can work your abs, but no more and no less than you work your other muscles throughout the day. There seems to be a heavy emphasis on working your abs, this heavy emphasis is often misunderstood to be the main contributor to good health. These crappy infomercials give the false belief that by working out just one part of your body, and developing 6 pack abs you will miraculously transform your overall health.

Working out should not just be concerned with one part of the body. What you need is an overall body fitness plan to be healthy.

Six Pack Myth 3: You have to train your abs every other day.

They say that you need to work your abs hard twice a week. That gives them the proper time for recovery. The key is to choose exercises that fatigue your abs, so that they will actually need that recovery time. Include exercises that use the abs functionality. Since abs are used to stabilize the body, holding a push up position without letting your body sag will really work and develop your abdominal muscles. Try the plank exercise for a while and check out the results.

Six Pack Myth 4: To gain significant results, high repetitions are required.

The key to massive abdominal gains is to overload. If your goal is to increase your abdominal endurance, the more crunches you do each time, the more you can do as time progresses. It does nothing to actually strengthen the abs very much, however, it will eat up most of your time. The key is not the number of reps it’s the intensity of the reps you do. That’s the real secret to how 2 get 6 pack abs.

There can’t be any doubt that every man who cares anything about their appearance, and a huge amount of women for that matter, wants a strong well defined mid section. Lets be honest, no one really wants a big unhealthy belly. Also, no one wants to have an overly skinny belly with ribs sticking out at all angles like sharp pointed pencils. What everyone wants to have is a strong set of sexy abs.

However, developing and maintaining ripped abs is undoubtedly a daunting task for some. It is also true that you will have to eliminate a number of lifes little pleasures and add some things into your daily routine that you may not find particularly pleasurable. Sadly, the temptation to use performance enhancing substances can prove too much for some to resist, but you sould dedicate yourself to taking a natural approach to reaching your long term objectives.

How you approach your attitude to your food intake will determine just how successful you will be in your quest for ripped abs. It is a recognised fact that in order to develop lean ripped abs you will have to increase your daily fibre and protein intake. You will also need to cut down on sugar and saturated fats quite significantly. It may sound obvious but it is this extra fat that is hiding your abs right now, and all the sit-ups and crunches in the world will do nothing to help without cutting out the fat! As always, I would strongly recommend consulting a health professional in this regard as they can devise the best diet plan for your requirements.

Fat removal is the first and probably the most important step in getting ripped abs. If you truly want to get stronger sexier abs, you will need to use some tension weights. Tension weights are fantastic for improving the overall aesthetics of your body, but are especially vital when working the abdominals. As always you should make sure that you have your exercise plan devised by a fitness expert and, if you are just embarking on a fitness regime for the first time then try to ensure you work under the supervision of some expert. Weight enhancers are used instead of tension weights. But be warned, this method is not ideal as it can tend to supercharge your muscles far too quickly. You need to take a gradual approach in order to develop those lean ripped abs you desire.

A great idea would be to prepare a meal chart in order to monitor your daily fat intake. Similarly, you should have a regularly maintained chart of your aerobic exercises. It will let you know just how much fat you have burned that day. Try to educate yourself as much as possible about your weight and general health. This not only makes it slightly easier to develop your abs but also makes it much more fun. Obtaining a great six pack will not be easy, lets face it if it were that easy then we would all be strolling around the place looking like a Greek God, however, it should never be ridiculously difficult either. Yes, you will have to cut out some of the luxuries and adopt a disciplined approach, but keep your eye on you ultimate goal and you will succeed.

It may seem like the most obvious question in the world but believe me, without at least a basic understanding of the physiology and composition of this particular muscle group then your goal of well defined ripped abs will remain a distant dream.

There are six groups of abdominals, hence the phrase six pack, and they make up the core abdominal muscles. Your abs begin just under the rib cage and make their way all the way down to the pelvic area. On either side of your torso are the internal and external obliques. These muscles are there primarily to support the movement of your spine from both side to side and the bending of your spine backward and forward. Your obliques are absolutely fundamental in your quest for ripped abs as they play a key role in developing core strength, but they will not form part of your visible six pack as they are impossible to see.

Now one extremely important fact to remember when working to develop ripped abs is that although the abs are made up of distinct muscle groups the abdominal area is in fact one muscle known as the Rectus Abdominus. Therefore it is physiologically impossible to isolate just one area of your abs completely, because by definition when you work your abs you will be working them all. You will sometimes hear people saying “I need to work my lower abs” or something similar~{Every now and again you will hear someone say “I have to work on my lower abs”}~Occasionally you might hear someone say ” I have to work on my lower abs” or something similar}~{On occasion you will hear someone say ” I have to work on my lower abs” or something along those lines}~{Every now and again you will hear someone say “I have to work on my lower abs”}~Occasionally you might hear someone say ” I have to work on my lower abs” or something similar}. This is just virtually impossible without working the rest of the muscle group simaltaneously.

The final group of abdominals are the Transverse Abdominus muscles. As with the external and internal obliques they are invisible from the outside, they do however, play just as pivotal a role in your quest for lean ripped abs as the other groups. Their main function is in ensuring correct body posture. A good analogy would be to look at your transverse abdominus as your own built in weight belt.

I believe it is vitally important to stress at this point just how vital strong abs can be. Ripped abs are a great goal to work towards, not just aesthetically but because strong abs contribute to good core stability which goes a long way to reducing potential problems in later life. Weak abdominal muscles will contribute towards problems such as lower back pain or indeed any other postural issues. Strong abs will go a long way towards reducing the risk of injury when you train or indeed just help to build your core strength when performing everyday activities.

It is also important to remember that the abs are muscles just like any other and as such they will require a period of recovery after a workout. The good news however, is that given their unique fibre composition they actually require slightly less recovery time than most of the other major muscle groups. Devise your workout plan around your ultimate goal, whether that be just to build strength or to develop awesome ripped abs, and stick to it rigidly. Best of luck.

There are a number of key requirements to fulfil in the quest for those elusive ripped abs, obviously a strict diet and a great workout plan are a must because without losing that excess fat from our bellies we will never get to see the six pack underneath. Don’t forget, repetitive exercise doesn’t create abs, they are already there in the first place!

There are so many factors that will dictate our natural physique, age and gender are just two, but it is our genes that determine where you will store body fat. Your gender can determine where you store body fat, women tend to store it around their butts and thighs, and guys store it around their stomachs, especially as they get older. It is vital then that you develop an understanding of how your body stores, uses and burns fat.

The body uses fat and carbohydrates as an energy source. The level of intensity in your exercising will determine how much fat or carbs you will burn. The commonly held theory is that the lower the intensity of the exercise the more fat you will burn. In fact you will even see it in black and white on the cardio machines at the gym. The “Fat Burning Zone” means that the lower the intensity and the longer you work, normally at around 50-60% of your maximum heart rate then the more fat you will burn for energy. The higher your intensity then the more likely you are to use up carbs as fuel.

The fact you must always bear in mind however, is that it is totally irrelevant how much fat you burn if you are not burning off enough calories. Fat burning only happens when you burn more energy than you take in and high intensity workouts are simply the most effective way to achieve this. Remember, energy in versus energy out equals fat loss. It’s a really straightforward equation.

However, there is a time and place for a lower intensity cardio session. It’s a great idea though to mix up your cardio with a really good high intensity workout. Perhaps 20 minutes at around 80-85% of your maximum heart rate on any cardio machine. Interval training, perhaps sprinting at full speed for a minute then walking for a minute etc, will give you all the intensity you will ever need to burn calories as well as fat.

Also try to fit in the odd moderately intense cardio session as well, 75% of your maximum heart rate should do the trick. Muscular definition and ripped abs are there for you, as long as you can combine your cardio with a great strength training programme. Lifting heavy weights is a fantastic way to burn fat as it actively increases your metabolic rate and of course preserves your muscle mass. The more muscle you have the more calories you will burn in preserving it in your everyday activities., so even just walking around will help to burn fat.

All it really takes is a commitment to do something every day, even if it to just take a brisk walk, as that will push your body into fat burning mode. It is only at this point that you will get to see those chiselled abs and that great lean body hidden underneath.

To many people it seems that there is an almost mystical quality to well defined ripped abs and just as many treat it as the holy grail of bodybuilding. As such far too many people believe that they are much harder to achieve than they actually are. The simple truth is that your abs are a muscle group that can be worked on in the same way that any of the other muscle groups can be.

Getting ripped abs is not rocket science, and while there is of course a certain amount of technical information you need to know, the secret to achieving your goals can be narrowed down to three or four areas and as long as you furnish yourself with enough knowledge of these areas then you WILL make it happen and ripped abs will be yours. However, all the information and education in the world will be completely useless unless you put it into action, set your goals and stick to them. You will make it happen by concentrating on the following areas:

1. Weight Training

There is no getting away from it, weight training is absolutely essential to getting ripped abs and muscular definition in every part of your body. You will need to precise about what exactly you are trying to achieve. If you are looking to build mass and strength in your abdominals then you will need to concentrate on lifting heavier weights with less reps. The reverse is also true, if you want leaner abs then concentrate on lifting a lighter weight but counteract this by increasing your rep rate. The great news here though is that the more muscle you develop in your abs then the more this muscle will eat away at the fatty deposits in your belly to provide the muscles with the energy they need. The leaner you are the better your chance of seeing those ripped abs.

2. Diet

This is absolutely fundamental in your quest for ripped abs and the body you have always desired. It is also the one area that is ignored far too much by the vast majority of occasional trainers. The bottom line is that if you have a great workout and then go straight to Burger King for a double whopper meal and shake then you will simply never achieve your goals. This may sound obvious but you would be amazed at how many people actually do this. To develop lean ripped abs and quality muscular definition it is imperative to have a well devised diet plan in place. In order to really build muscle mass you have to significantly increase your protein intake, and if you really want to see the difference when you look in the mirror then you will have to work on dropping your body fat, preferably to a single digit number if at all possible. Therefore it is absolutely essential to maintain a strict diet that is low in fat, high in fibre and rich in protein. I would always advise having all your meals planned well in advance in order to reduce the risks of “snacking”

3. Getting Assistance

Don’t forget that you are never on your own. Don’t be shy about seeking the help you need from fitness pros and make it your business to familiarise yourself with the right supplements. Getting ripped abs will require an increase in your intake of minerals, nutrients and multivitamins. Make it your business to familiarise yourself with supplements such as Creatine, a great protein used to increase muscle mass, or Chromium which will help with improving your metabolic rate, and of course Glutamine which will furnish you with all the energy you will need for those intensive workouts you will be doing. At the beginning of your quest always, and I mean always try to stick to natural supplements. Stay away from any type of dubious or illegal substances at all costs. Ripped abs and muscular definition is great but staying safe and healthy is just as important. Good luck.

If like most people, getting a set of rock hard ripped abs is a huge part of your fitness training plans then there are a number of important factors that must not be overlooked. The main factor to bear in mind is that if you are already involved in any strength training programme then you are already using your abs in a major way. It’s a huge misconception, and indeed a mistake that so many people make that to get ripped abs you need to focus entirely on ab work like countless sit ups and crunches alone. This is simply wrong.

It’s a well known fact that if you are lifting any kind of heavy weight, specifically in your lunges or squats, deadlifts or bench presses then the abs will be playing a major part. If you are getting your breathing right as well then the abs will be getting an even better workout. To be fair, if you are not using your abs in your lifting, or if they were not working then chances are you would be unable to perform effectively. Your core strength just would not be there, and ripped abs would be a virtual impossibility.

Because the abdominals are going to be playing such a major part in your training sessions it would make sense to concentrate on form and technique. How many times have you seen those huge guys at the gym straining to lift massive weight without the slightest hint of technique or form.. How many of them actually have a well toned muscular physique with defined and ripped abs? Not many I can assure you.

I recently suffered a leg injury which prohibited me from lifting any real weight so I started doing some slow and controlled push ups, all the time concentrating on my breathing and technique. Believe it or not I noticed a difference in the definition of my abs. I’m not saying that I developed chiselled ripped abs in two weeks but there was definitely some development.

Another fundamental aspect in achieving ripped abs is by lowering your body fat percentage to the point where you can actually see them! What is the point in all that hard work if you have nothing to show for it at the end. It is simply vital that you lower your body fat percentage as close to single figures as you possibly can and this can only be achieved by changing your relationship with food. Weight training will of course boost your metabolic rate and make fat burning a lot easier but you have to be smart when it comes to your training. Use heavy sets of deadlifts and squats to really fire up your metabolic rate. These will be far more effective than bicep curls or perhaps some other isolation exercises.

Taking this approach will have the added benefit of providing you with a far better whole body workout without wasting too much time on needless exercises, but it will also help you achieve that ripped abs look that you are going for. Don’t forget though, it will all be just wasted effort if you finish your workout and go straight to the first burger joint you see..

Remember that it is actually a really simple equation. A solid well devised weight training programme coupled with a clean low fat high fibre protein rich diet equals ripped abs. Simple as that. Best of luck in making lean ripped abs your reality..

If you’re a male you are going to wish to know the most effective abdominals exercise training routines for getting a six pack. If you are a female you are going to need to know the best workouts that will provide you with that fantastic flat and attractive abdomen. Finding an exercise plan that’s been specifically designed to accomplish the results you would like is vital. It’s no good merely browsing several web sites or maybe YouTube videos for a few of the best abdominal exercises because they need to be organised as a suitable workout to get optimum advantage.

The best abdominal muscle plan will be ineffective unless you possess the drive as well as motivation to see it through to get the outcomes you want. Next when you acquire them you need to continue to keep performing a similar program to retain them or ultimately you’ll get out of shape just as before. You have abdominal muscles regardless if all you can observe is surplus stomach fat. If that sounds like you then you need to shed away that tummy fat to be able to view those abs.

Generally there is no need regarding special machines for carrying out abdominal exercises or though they may be utilized. You will get excellent benefits without any kind of machines at all but it can be well worth paying a few dollars on certain basic gear such as an exercise ball.

These are some the most popular abdominals exercising techniques that you’ll come across in just about any abs workout regime.

The Abdominal Crunch – These are very similar to sit-ups however while you bring up your torso from the floor toward your legs you push in the direction of alternative knees. With a normal sit-up your head is lifted between the knees with every single repetition.

The Tummy Tuck – This particular physical exercise requires you to be sitting down in a chair with your back straight. As you continue being seated you draw inwards your tummy muscles and hold them for a few seconds then release them.

The Abdominal Bicycle Crunch – This is a physical exercise which you do lying on your back on the ground. While you support your head you lift up both of your feet upwards from the floor and with alternating reps you bring one of your knees and also the opposing elbow up to meet each other.

The Reverse Abdominal Crunch – This is yet another exercise that is completed when laying on your back. This time around you keep your arms by your sides and you simply then lift and bend your legs toward your torso. Just hold and repeat for several repetitions.

That is just some abs workout routines you can attempt but it’s advised that you try a professionally designed plan. Take a look at this Truth About 6 Pack Abs review. The Truth About Abs is the foremost selling abs exercise program available on the internet and it will tell you all that you should learn. Yet whichever program you choose to follow you should stick to it for at minimum several weeks and do the exercises no less than every second day.

You might take a look down at your entire body and feel to yourself “I want a six pack” when you notice the unwanted stomach fat. The muscle groups that require toning will be the abdominals or more commonly known as simply “abs”. Training the abdominal muscles will firm up and build the muscle tissue. Men who are really enthusiastic to get a amazing physique will exercise their stomach muscles until they get a six pack.

The abdominal muscles protect the organs within the lower body and working out this area will cause you to feel better in addition to making you look healthy and well developed. Training this region does not need any specialized gym equipment so its possible to work out within the convenience of your own property. It is nevertheless ideal to have some kind of workout regime that you can follow that was specially created to firm up the ab muscles.

The most popular and easy to perform lower abdominal exercise is the abdominal crunch. This is when you are lying flat on your back on the ground and you rise in the direction of your bent legs and touch the knees with the elbows. As you visualize this exercise you are probably believing that I am talking about a sit-up. While similar they aren’t the same exercise. A sit-up is where you raise your head between your knees on every rep. The abdominal crunch goes to the side to ensure your elbows contact the knees. It isn’t going to actually make any difference which you choose to do even though it’s perhaps best to try and do the one that you will find more difficult. This tends to ensure that you are toning up muscles which you make use of least regularly.

Whilst abs machine are not required there are still a lot of them available to buy. Some are simply a waste of time and cash. Probably none of them are required but some of these are beneficial if you believe as if you ought to get one. If you do decide to purchase a fitness piece of equipment be sure that you test it first. If they don’t allow you to try them out in the shop then just go elsewhere. If you can feel your abdominals being stretched then at least it is doing something. It’s actually a wise idea to read reviews regarding a piece of equipment before you decide to invest in one so that you can discover what people that have invested in them think about them. Amazon.com is a good place to read customer testimonials plus they sell a large range of exercise products.

If it is reducing your weight you are after then you have come to the wrong place as abs workout routines build and tone muscle as opposed to burning excess fat. They’ll have minimal effect on burning off abdominal fat and are next to worthless if your tummy is over weight.

It doesn’t seem fair to you, you have worked and worked on those abs as often as others at your, and you’re doing lots of repetitions, so why can’t you see your abs? It can be extremely annoying, that is for sure, and it seems so unjust that others have the perfect six pack abs while yours are still not in sight. Why is this, and how can you rectify the problem?

Well first of all, you need to realize that everyone is different, we consume different quantities of food and drink of differing types, and our body’s process it differently. That’s why even in the same family we have people of different shapes and sizes.

Then, you need to be certain that you are actually doing all the exercises the right way. Speed is not important here, and you should not be trying to do as many crunches as you can in one minute. You need to be certain you are accurately targeting the abdominal muscles – if you aren’t, you’ll never get ripped abs. So slow your crunches down, and make sure it is actually your abdominals doing the work. If not, correct your method, and pay close attention as you do them in the future to make sure you don’t slip back into bad habits.

Next, while you are at the gym, see what your body fat ratio is. It should be in the low teens, ideally around twelve. Anything higher will explain why your abdominals are not looking ripped. The body fat ratio tells you the amount of fat that your body has. The higher the number the more fat your body has, and the more fat, the harder it is for those abdominal muscles to stand out from under those layers of fat. That makes sense, right?

Ok, so if your body fat ration is too high, what it is suggesting to is that you have to get rid of some of those layers of fat. To do this, you need to do more than crunches and abs exercises. You need to do some cardio exercises too, and watch what you eat. Perhaps you need to eat less and run more. You know what I mean. Once you lose a few pounds, your abs muscles will be able to be seen, and in time, as your body fat ration gets to the ideal level, your six pack abdominals will be showing good and strong, and you will no longer have to worry about where your
ripped abs are, as they will be there for all to see.

You’re getting discouraged, and it’s not surprising, because you have worked on those six pack abdominals regularly, and they are still not showing. How many more crunches do i have to do to get them defined enough to show as a great set of six pack abs?

Firstly, you are not the only one to whom this has happened, there are a lot of people in this boat, so don’t give up yet, and with a few adjustments, your abdominals and six pack will be showing very soon. Even with the best of intentions, which can be seen by the number of crunches we do every day, not every one can get their perfect abs to show. You are sure that your abs are much stronger, but they still don’t show, so what exactly is happening? Well, what you need to do first is to make absolutely sure that it is your abs that you are targeting in your exercises, an also make sure that you are not rushing them. For many exercisers, it is the number they can do in a fixed time that is important, but that lowers the level of the exercise. To be more beneficial, you need to hold each contraction of the abs for a few seconds, and if you are rushing to beat the latest record of number of the crunches in two minutes, then you cannot do this, and the crunches will not be as successful for you. So slow the exercises you are doing, and improve the quality of your exercises, and any other workouts you do that target the abs muscles.

The next thing you need to do is to find out what your body fat ratio is – you will be able to do this on the weighing machines at the gym if your bathroom scales don’t tell you. This number should be around 12, but if yours is a lot higher than this, then that explains why your 6 pack abdominals are not defined. The body fat ratio is an indicator to inform you how much body fat you have, and the higher the number, the more fat you have. The more fat you have, the more layers of fat are covering your abs muscles, so provided you have been doing your exercises correctly, your abs will be well defined but just hidden by too much fat.

Now then, if too much is the cause of your abs to not be defined as great six pack abs what are your options? You can see that you need to lose some of those fat from your body, and abs exercises alone will not achieve this for you. You must do some cardio workouts, to lose some fat. Don’t panic this doesn’t automatically mean that you have to workout even longer in the gym each day. You can probably reduce the time you spend on your abs exercises, and more time doing cardio. Combine this with eating a little less, you will be well on your way to losing some fat. Make sure you are eating a healthy diet, and not over doing the drinks. The occasional drink is fine, but drinking alcohol on a regular basis is just providing your body with too many unneccessary calories.

So, to summarize, do your exercises properly, lose some body fat and your six pack abdominals will be defined and showing like those on others you’ve been jealously watching.
